The short answer

Pay for nothing until a campaign approves one of your clips. OpusClip and Vizard both bill by the minute of footage you upload, so one four-hour stream costs you 240 credits whether the tool finds one usable clip or fifteen. OpusClip's $15 Starter plan holds 150.

Pick GTA story and roleplay moments yourself. Eklipse, a clipping tool built for gaming streams, says in its own guide that its detection is least accurate on Just Chatting and IRL streams and that you should clip conversation by hand. A gaming review site tested OpusClip and found that it picks moments from speech and misses quiet gameplay. A roleplay scene depends on conversation, and a story-mode moment often has nobody talking, so each kind of tool has a weak spot on GTA footage.

Prices come from third-party reviews collected on 15 October 2026. We re-read each vendor's pricing page on 22 October 2026 wherever the page showed the figure. Vendors change plans often, so confirm on the vendor's own pricing page, linked at the bottom, before you pay.

You pay by the minute of footage

OpusClip and Vizard charge one credit for every minute you upload, and the clips you keep cost nothing extra. A 30-minute podcast uses 30 credits whether you keep one clip or fifteen. Stream clippers feel this most, because you upload hours of footage to find a moment that lasts seconds.

What you uploadCredits usedSmallest OpusClip monthly plan that holds it
A 30-minute podcast30Free, 60 credits a month
A 2-hour stream120Starter, 150 credits for $15 a month
A 4-hour stream240Pro, 300 credits for $29 a month
An 8-hour launch-day stream480None. Pro holds 300 a month

Trim before you upload. If you already know where the moment sits, cut a 20-minute section around it and upload only that. You spend 20 credits on the section, and you give the tool less footage to get wrong. To pull a section of a past broadcast instead of the whole thing, use the yt-dlp flag in the stream clipping guide.

Castmagic, which reviewed OpusClip's pricing, also reports that paid credits on a monthly plan expire after 60 days. You cannot save up a quiet month's credits for launch week.

The four tools, priced

Each vendor counts usage its own way, so work out what one of your streams would cost on each before you compare the prices.

ToolCharges byLowest paid priceThe catch for stream clippers
OpusClipEach minute you upload$15 a month for 150 creditsYou cannot fit one 4-hour stream (240 credits) into Starter.
VizardEach minute you uploadAbout $14.50 a month billed yearly, about $29 billed monthlyOn the free plan you export at 720p with a watermark.
KlapEach clip it generatesAbout $14 a month billed yearly, for 100 clipsKlap lists no free plan, so you pay before you test it.
SubmagicEach video, up to 2 minutes long on Starter$19 a month for 15 videosYou pay extra for auto-clipping, and a stream will not fit the 2-minute limit.

OpusClip

OpusClip's free plan includes 60 credits a month. Free exports carry a watermark, and OpusClip deletes free uploads and exports after 3 days. Starter costs $15 a month for 150 credits. Pro costs $29 a month for 300 credits, or $174 a year for 3,600, which works out to $14.50 a month.

Vizard

Vizard states on its pricing page that every minute you upload costs one credit. On the free plan you get 60 credits a month and export at 720p with a watermark. Creator costs about $29 a month, or about $14.50 a month billed yearly, with no watermark.

Klap

Klap charges by the clip instead of the minute. Basic covers 100 clips a month for about $14 a month billed yearly, and Pro covers 300 for about $39 a month billed yearly. Klap lists no free plan, so you pay before you see what it does with your footage.

Submagic

Submagic prices by the video. On Starter you pay $19 a month for 15 videos of up to 2 minutes each, so you cannot upload a stream on that plan. Submagic sells auto-clipping as an add-on. Reviewers rate it as a caption specialist that picks moments less well than the other three.

Put the subscription against what campaigns pay

As market context from other companies, and not a RUCKUS rate or a promise: entertainment and gaming work generally sits between $0.20 and $1.00 per 1,000 views on the boards those companies publish. At those rates, OpusClip's $15 Starter plan costs the same as the payout on 15,000 to 75,000 views of approved clips. You pay it every month whether or not a campaign approves anything. Read the payment guide for how a posted rate works.

What the AI misses in GTA footage

AI clippers pick moments from one of two signals, and each signal has a documented weak spot.

Eklipse rates its own detection most accurate on kill feeds in shooters and battle royales, and tells streamers that clipping by hand is more precise for conversation. Two Average Gamers recommends OpusClip for podcasters and commentators and calls it the wrong tool for streamers who play action games. Neither source tested GTA footage, so test any tool on your own footage before you trust it.

A roleplay payoff often depends on a setup from much earlier in the stream, and you know which setup matters because you watched it. Use the fix from the roleplay section of the stream clipping guide: one caption line of setup on the first frame, then the payoff. You write that line from what you saw earlier in the stream.

Test before you pay

  1. Pick a VOD where you already know the best moment. Use your own stream or one you have permission to clip, and write down the timestamps you would cut before you upload anything.
  2. Upload 30 to 60 minutes of it on a free plan. OpusClip and Vizard each give you 60 free credits a month, enough for one hour of footage on either.
  3. Compare the tool's picks with yours. If the tool misses the moment you already found, expect it to miss moments on streams you have not watched.
  4. Keep only the parts that save you time. If the picks are weak, you can still use a tool for the vertical reframe and the captions while you choose the moments. CapCut writes captions for free (see the editing tools guide), so a paid plan has to beat CapCut on your footage.
  5. Subscribe after a campaign approves a clip. Until then, the free plans and CapCut cover everything you need.

On a campaign, you may pull only from the source material the brief names. Every tool on this page processes your footage on its own servers, so ask the buyer before unreleased footage goes into any of them.

If a tool posts for you, the disclosure is still your job

OpusClip and Vizard can schedule posts to your accounts. When a campaign pays you to post, you say so at the start of the video and switch on the platform's paid-content setting: the branded content toggle on TikTok, the paid promotion checkbox on YouTube, the paid partnership label on Instagram. Check both before you queue a clip, and post it yourself if the scheduler cannot set the label. The FTC treats disclosure as the poster's own responsibility. RUCKUS campaigns are 18 and over, and we never ask for an ID or a date of birth.

Why this page sells you nothing

No tool on this page pays us, and no link here is an affiliate link. Before you buy a tool because a video recommended it, check that video's description for an affiliate link, because a creator who earns a commission on your subscription has to disclose it. RUCKUS makes money one way: a buyer funds their own campaign, and we invoice that buyer separately for our studio fee, never out of the clipper pot.

Questions, answered

Which AI clipping tool is best for GTA 6?

The reviews behind this page, collected on 15 October 2026, came out before anyone could play GTA 6, so none of them tested it. GTA 6 reaches PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on 19 November 2026, and your footage will come from your own console captures or from streams you have permission to clip. Test the free plans of OpusClip and Vizard on GTA V footage now, using a section where you already know the best moment, and keep whichever one finds it.

Is OpusClip worth it for clipping Twitch or Kick streams?

Test it on the free plan first. A single 4-hour stream needs 240 credits and Starter holds 150, so you either pay $29 a month for Pro or trim every stream before you upload it. Two Average Gamers recommends OpusClip for podcasters and commentators and not for streamers who play action games.

Can AI clip GTA roleplay?

AI can cut and caption a roleplay scene once you have found it. In its own guide, Eklipse rates its detection lowest on conversation-heavy streams and recommends clipping conversation by hand, so you find the scene and let the software handle the cut and the captions. Roleplay streams today run on GTA V servers, and nobody has announced a date for GTA 6 roleplay.

Do I need a paid AI tool to start clipping?

No. The free stack on the editing tools page covers the cut, the captions and the vertical export, and a campaign pays per verified view at the rate printed on its brief, whatever software cut the clip. Pay for a tool once it saves you time on clips that campaigns already approve.
